August 15, 2013
Vancouver, BC – Make your September long weekend sparkle at The Beach Club Resort’s fifth annual Bubbles on the Beach. Located just steps from the sand of Parksville Beach on Vancouver Island’s east coast, the resort’s Pacific Prime Restaurant patio is the perfect place to soak up the sunshine and sample the finest local food and international sparkling wines.
On August 31st the sound of popping corks and live jazz will be floating on the breeze at The Beach Club Resort in Parksville, along with the delicious scent of roasted suckling pig and local delicacies such as ethically farmed seafood from Island Scallops and handcrafted cheeses from Vancouver Island. Nanaimo’s Wellington Secondary Alumni jazz band will be performing with guests Amy McCartie, John Lee and Carmella Luvisotto. The Beach Club Resort’s Executive Chef Rick Davidson will be making his famous sizzling seafood bake and Gordon Food Services will be providing a ‘prawn wall’ and local seafood ceviche.
“We have the perfect combination of our amazing oceanfront location, famous Parksville sunshine and, of course, lots of wine,” says Shawna Broekhuizen, General Manager of The Beach Club Resort. “As well as bubbles we have variety of wines from all over the world accompanied with delicious dishes from our chef showcasing the best of local ocean-to-fork produce.”
Explore the tempting food stations with a glass of chilled BC bubbly in your hand – try sparkling wine from the Okanagan’s Lake Breeze Winery, or a fizzy fruit wine from Elephant Island Orchard Winery. Other BC wineries, including Dirty Laundry, Ex Nihilio and the German-style Wild Goose, will be pouring their wines and international fizz will be represented by Italian prosecco from Col de Salici and Simonnet Febvre Cremant Brut from the Chablis region of France.
Local Parksville florists Petal and Kettle will be showcasing their beautiful flowers and Hot Chocolates, an artisan chocolatier from the Comox Valley, will be providing the sweet treats. Body painting by Samantha Rae Body Art and a martini luge sculpted out of ice by artist Andrew McTavish add a creative adult twist to the event.
Tickets to the event cost $99 but if you book a Bubbles on the Beach package at The Beach Club you can enjoy two tickets to the main event and two tickets for a special Sunday brunch, combined with a stay in a studio room, from just $325 a night.*
