Dale Hodgson, CEO/Director - Bellstar Group Inc.
Dale is a successful entrepreneur who has developed extensive practical hands-on expertise in building successful businesses. He has been a shareholder and Director of Bellstar since 2004 and in 2014 took over the role of CEO. In addition to his involvement in Bellstar, Dale has owned and been involved in businesses related to the technology, manufacturing and service industries. He is currently a shareholder and Chairman of Kokanee Springs Resort Club in Crawford Bay, BC – a Bellstar managed property.
Dale and his wife Merleen are actively involved in the Calgary community and Dale serves on several other boards including Insight Limited Partnership and Corpath Business Forums.
Ed Romanowski, President & Founder/ Director - Bellstar Group Inc.
Ed is President of the Bellstar Group, a Canadian based resort community developer and manager, which he founded in 2003. Ed has overseen Bellstar's growth from a single resort property under management in 2003 to 10 properties in 2014. Ed currently leads the Development and Real Estate divisions of Bellstar with projects and realty sales operations in Canmore, Alberta, as well as in Osoyoos, Oliver, Parksville and Crawford Bay, British Columbia.
Ed's tourism and hospitality career spans over 35 years in government, management consulting, business start-ups, development, and operations. For the past 20 years, Ed has lead and managed resort development projects that involve well over $1 billion in planned development of resort, residential, commercial, tourism and related uses.
Over the past 10 years, working with the Osoyoos Indian Band as a business and development partner under Chief Clarence Louie’s leadership, Ed and Bellstar provided vision, management and financial resources for the internationally acclaimed and awarded $75 million 226 unit Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa development on Osoyoos Indian Band lands near Osoyoos, B.C.
His education includes a Bachelor of Arts Honours (BA Honours) from the University of Winnipeg, and a Master of City Planning (MCP) from the University of Manitoba. Ed is also a Certified Management Consultant and a Member of the American Resort Development Association, Canadian Resort Development Association, and The Executive Committee (TEC).
Ed is involved in several industry and community organizations. He is currently Chair of the Canadian Resort Development Association, a Director on the Edge School for Athletes Society, and a Member of the University of Winnipeg Faculty of Business & Economics Advisory Council.
Patti Smith, Chief Financial Officer - Bellstar Group Inc.
With over 20 years in the resort industry, Patti joined Bellstar in the summer of 2009 after she had established her own consulting company, Polar Peaks Services. One of her key successes with Polar Peaks includes creating process and results to enable a multi-million dollar real estate venture to collect on over $13 million in receivables and defaults. Her career also includes working with the resort development Intrawest Corporation as the Vice President, Strategic Alliances.
As a Chartered Accountant, Patti is responsible for working with the Executives to secure development and acquisition financing for both Bellstar Hotels & Resorts and Bellstar Developments. She also supports our key accounting team members to improve Bellstar’s bottom line results for all stakeholders and is currently also overseeing the hotel operations management. Her talents lay in focused financial leadership, process development and integration of resort real estate and operations.
Rudy Tomazic, Vice-President - Real Estate - Bellstar Realty
Rudy has over 17 years of resort industry experience. He joined Bellstar to take charge of real estate sales and marketing in December 2012. A graduate of the Business Administration program at the University of Toronto, Rudy got his start in the resort industry with Shell Vacation Club and very quickly worked his way up. His last role there was as Director of Onsite Sales. During his time at Shell from 1996 to 2004, he developed an in-house staffed sales program and successfully implemented a re-load department where existing vacation owners were sold additional vacation time.
At Shell Vacation Club, Rudy was responsible for growing sales starting at $4.5 million in his first year with Shell to more than $30 million at one resort at the end of his time with Shell. He helped to open new offsite offices and was responsible for overseeing the construction, budgeting, hiring sales personnel, and training. In 2000, he helped create and design the SVC (Shell Vacation Club) Points Program, and then implemented the new program in the Canadian market. Before joining Bellstar, Rudy was the VP of Sales & Marketing with the Sunchaser Vacation Villas project in Fairmont Hot Springs, B.C. At Sunchaser, Rudy was responsible for implementing a sales program that doubled monthly sales. He led his team in achieving sales of up to $750,000 in one month. Within the first 18 months of the program, the team lead by Rudy achieved sales of $3 million.

Douglas Snider, Director of Property Management - Bellstar Group Inc.
Doug has over 30 years of real estate management experience with Condominiums, Strata Corporations, Housing Co-operatives, multi-family and commercial properties. Doug holds the real estate designations of CPM (Certified Property Manager), CMOC (Certified Manager of Condominiums), and FRI (Fellow of the Real Estate Institute). He obtained a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from the Sauder School of Business at UBC.
Prior to joining Bellstar Group, Doug held executive and senior management positions in private equity companies, third party management companies, and a condominium / rental pool management company. Doug has overseen the management of portfolios of over 10,000 units and provided Brokerage oversight of 384 trust accounts. With a commitment to excellence, Doug strives to provide the highest level of service to clients, while maintaining cost controls and reducing lifecycle costs for the properties under management.
Ian M. Thorley, Director of Sales & Marketing - Bellstar Hotels & Resorts Inc.
Ian directs all Bellstar hotel marketing and sales strategies, oversees direct sales efforts, consumer and field marketing activities, advertising, public relations and e-commerce.
Previously at the executive level for Delta Hotels & Resorts, the 20 year hospitality industry veteran produced record years in hotel occupancy and Revpar by implementing new age marketing initiatives, comprehensive business plans, as well as sales process restructuring. In 2008 he oversaw the expansion of his hotel’s addition of 41 condo units plus two additional restaurants. Through his tenure with Delta Hotels & Resorts he was honored with a number of team awards for financial performance, marketing, public relations, and guest satisfaction from not only the brand but clients and business partners as well. Prior to joining Delta Hotels & Resorts, Ian spent more than 15 years in a number of sales related positions including being based in Calgary as Royal Hosts’ National Sales Manager for Western Canada before moving on to become a Director of Sales & Marketing. Ian’s diverse hotel background comes from working with an array of hotel brands and independent hotels, including Travelodge, Hilton Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, and Skyline Hotels & Resorts. He has been a past member of Meeting Planners International, Canadian Society of Association Executives, Canadian Professional Sales Association as well as serving on the marketing advisory committee for Tourism Sun Peaks. Ian began his hospitality career graduating with an honors degree from Ryerson University’s Hotel Management program.
Leslie Ducommun, Controller - Bellstar Group Inc.
Leslie joined Bellstar in the fall of 2012. Leslie brings over 25 years of accounting experience from a variety of industries culminating with her last 6 years specializing in hotel and resort strata financials. Leslie’s career as Controller has spanned a number of different industries including Sales, Manufacturing, Technology, Development but her passion has been in the hospitality industry.
Prior to coming to Bellstar, in tandem with the CFO, Leslie was able to increase the profitability of her past company by over 20% in one fiscal year through diligent cost control. As the Controller of Bellstar Group Inc, Leslie works hand-in-hand with the accounting team to ensure relevant timelines are achieved. Leslie’s proven talent is to implement processes and procedures that save the company time resources and money.
Margo Foy, Executive Housekeeper - Bellstar Hotels & Resorts Inc.
Margo recently joined the Bellstar family in January 2014. An industry veteran, Margo has spent 25 years in management positions overseeing housekeeping departments of 5 star hotels worldwide. She has worked for Le Meridien, Sutton Place, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, One & Only Resorts, Fairmont Hotels and St. Regis Hotels. In addition to her world class hotel experience, Margo held the position of Head Housekeeper of the Private Residences for Their Majesties King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan. While living and working in Dubai in 2003 she returned to University to earn a Masters Degree in Quality Management.
Margo currently sits on the Industry Advisory Committee for the Hospitality Program at Camosun College, Victoria.

Arthur Wong, General Manager - Beach Club Resort, Parksville, British Columbia
Arthur joined Bellstar Hotels and Resorts in 2013 with more than 20 years of international hotel experience and is a graduate of London University – Royal Holloway and Bedford New College with a BSc. Hons. In Mathematics.
Arthur’s global career has taken him from Hong Kong to Vietnam to Vancouver to Edmonton to Southern California to Miami to Cairo to Shanghai and most recently Manila where he was the Director of Rooms opening up two 5 star hotels, the Fairmont and Raffles Makati. Arthur brings with him a passion for excellent service and expertise in both hotel openings and hotel management. This passion is rooted from working for several upscale hotel brands such as Renaissance, Delta and Fairmont.
Darryll Hunter, General Manager - Solara Resort & Spa, Canmore, Alberta
Darryll has over 16 years of hotel and resort experience to the Bellstar team throughout his hospitality career. Darryll is hotel success story starting as a Valet early on in his career. His experience spans many brands including Marriott, Ramada, Radisson and Choice Hotels.
Darryll brings a great deal of experience and leadership to Bellstar. In his past experience he has shown exceptional organizational and motivational skills. Darryll takes pride in his property through effective workload prioritization and strong financial acumen. He has established a track record within the hospitality industry for dealing with complex situations, managing multiple projects, performing hotel/resort analysis and developing strategic plans to optimize performance as well to achieve both top and bottom line results. This experience combined with a pleasant demeanor and a desire for excellence helps Darryll to motivate his team to meet projects goals, company growth and revenue production.
Mike Campol, General Manager - Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa, Osoyoos, British Columbia
Mike joined Bellstar Hotels & Resorts in 2011 in the role of Operations Manager and was soon promoted to General Manager by late 2012. Mike brings 20 years of hospitality experience most of which were in a leadership role. An active member of the Okanagan community, Mike is currently is the Director at Destination Osoyoos, Treasurer for the NK’MIP Resort Association, Founder & Chairman of the non-profit charity Spirit of the Game, and Chair for the Desert Live Music Festival in Osoyoos.
Tim Charron, Hotel Manager - Kicking Horse Resort, Golden, British Columbia
Originally from Montreal, Tim began his career working in many industries including interior design, manufacturing, event management and entertainment. In 2010 Tim came to Western Canada and began working for Ultimate Resorts & Hotels at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort prior to Bellstar’s acquisition. Tim has since spent two years in management at Bellstar’s Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa. In 2014 Tim returned to Kicking Horse as Hotel Manager and will provide team leadership, a strong work ethic and knowledge of hotel operations.

Donald J. Douglas , Chairman of the Board
Don's involvement in the real estate development and investment industry spans well over 20 years, including his current role at United Inc. (and its predecessor companies), where he has been serving as President for ten years. Don has been and continues to be, a director of numerous investment and management companies in Alberta, including Alsten Holdings Ltd., Titan Digital Corporation, and Bellstar. He has an MBA from the IMEDE Management Development Institute in Lausanne, Switzerland, in addition to his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta. Don is Past Chairman of the Board of the Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts, and is also a member of the World President's' Organization in Alberta. Don is a Shareholder and Director of Bellstar Hotels & Resorts Ltd. and Bellstar Developments Inc.
Dan Pigeon, Director
Dan is the CFO at Stagewest Hospitality. He is a senior finance professional with more than 20 years of leadership experience most recently focusing on strategic financial issues – strategic planning, capital structure and financing, enterprise-wide risk assessment and management. A strategically-oriented individual with well developed interpersonal and communication skills best suited to medium to large, growth oriented, international, companies. Prior to joining Stagewest, he held senior positions with Pengrowth Corporation, Fortis Alberta, TransAlta and Emco Corporation. Dan joined the Bellstar Board in June of 2012. He is also a director on the Board of Tourism Calgary. Dan is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario.

Howard Pechet, Bellstar Group
Howard has been involved in the development and operation of numerous hotels including Mayfield Inn in Edmonton, Medicine Hat Lodge in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Toronto's International Plaza Hotel and Stage West All-Suite Hotel. Howard and his father built the original Stage West Theatre Restaurant in Edmonton, and he remains active as the Executive Producer of numerous plays. His family founded the Canadian Western Bank, where Howard continues as a Founding Director. Howard is a Shareholder & Director of Bellstar Hotels & Resorts Ltd. and Bellstar Developments Inc.
