August 06, 2009
Osoyoos, BC: Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa recently marked the opening of the South Okanagan’s most comprehensive outdoor amenity space with an open air pool party celebration and ribbon cutting.
In celebration of the completion of the Spirit Ridge Phase 2 outdoor amenity space this summer, the resort offered an outdoor BBQ, ribbon cutting and a social lunch event to thank the hard working construction crew and showcase the new facilities to resort guests, locals and staff.
The opening is one more step towards to the completion of 132 luxury condo resort units in Phase 2 of the 4.5 star Spirit Ridge Resort development, part of the larger master-planned vision for the experiential resort destination of NK'MIP.
“The completion of this aspect of the resort is not only a great development for resort owners and guests, but a tribute to the ongoing economic development on Osoyoos Indian Band lands in the South Okanagan, and the strong partnership between the Osoyoos Indian Band and Bellstar Hotels & Resorts,” says Bellstar President and CEO, Ed Romanowski. “We could not have met our goal of opening this space for resort guests for the summer months if it wasn’t for the expertise of our development and operations teams and the efficient and dedicated efforts the trades and suppliers under the direction of Greyback Construction.”
Envisioned collaboratively by Bellstar Hotels & Resorts and the Osoyoos Indian Band, the new facilities include poolside cabanas, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, picnic and sunbathing courtyard, outdoor waterslide, jetted pool and hot tub, a salmon pit for traditional First Nations cooking demonstrations, a large fire bowl and a centre courtyard fountain that will anchor the guest amenities at the resort.
The NK'MIP Conference Centre will be the largest event space in the South Okanagan, with the ability to host up to 350 people, for a wide range of meetings, weddings and events. Phase 2 will bring the addition of 132 villas and suites, bringing the total to 226 units.
The completion of Phase 2 of Spirit Ridge and the NK'MIP Conference Centre is scheduled for October of 2009.
The destination of NK'MIP is also home to Sonora Desert Spa, Passa Tempo Restaurant, NK'MIP Cellars, Sonora Dunes Golf Course, NK'MIP Desert Cultural Centre and NK'MIP RV Park.
