Canmore’s largest resort hospitality provider named Employer of Choice for 2010

Calgary, Alberta: Bellstar Hotels & Resorts, Western Canada’s leading resort development and management company, has been awarded the Employer of Choice designation for 2010 by the Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) for exceptional Human Resources practices at all five of the company’s Canmore resorts.

Facilitated by the AHLA, the Employer of Choice program evaluates current Human Resources practices and provides objective feedback based on real data, including documentation and employee surveys. The audit allows areas of excellence to be identified, and shows which practices employees appreciate most. The audit also offers opportunities to expand and improve Bellstar’s current HR practices and confirms the ongoing success of current programs and policies. Lastly, it offers feedback from management and employees through an online employee opinion survey which allows Bellstar to hear firsthand how the team feels about current HR programs.

The AHLA award reflects practices at Bellstar’s five managed condo-resorts in Canmore including Blackstone Mountain Lodge, The Lodges at Canmore, Fire Mountain Lodge and Canmore Crossing. Across the five properties, Bellstar employs 80 talented frontline, management and operations staff on a seasonal and full-time basis; some of whom have been with the company since the resorts opened.
