Calgary-based CEO Ed Romanowski showcased on W Network’s Undercover Boss Canada

Calgary, AB (February 7, 2013) – Ed Romanowski, CEO of Bellstar Hotels & Resorts will be featured on W Network’s Undercover Boss Canada on Thursday, February 14 at 10 p.m. MT (9 p.m. ET/PT).

Ed joins some of Canada’s most admired business leaders as the show heads behind-the-scenes of Canadian companies to uncover the touching personal stories behind the face of the business.

During the Bellstar episode, Ed went undercover in the housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, spa and guest services departments, working directly with employees as a new recruit. This journey proved to be an emotional one: “I felt truly humbled to be able to engage on a very personal level with our exceptionally hard working team members,” shared Romanowski. “At Bellstar, the foundation of what we do is anchored by a family of staff – the outstanding people who craft the Bellstar experience at each of our resorts. I was moved to hear first hand stories of the challenges that these people have had to overcome in order to become exceptional in their fields.”

Throughout filming, Ed went undercover and undetected in three of Bellstar’s resorts including; Canmore, Alberta, the gateway to the Canadian Rockies west of Calgary; Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa in Osoyoos, B.C., Canada’s own desert destination; as well as the company’s Calgary office. Ed is an engaging leader and a familiar face to all employees, so it was important for him to go unrecognized during filming. He spent an hour each morning perfecting his disguise including a hair piece, moustache and a beard - which had the added bonus of altering his facial expressions and speech.

Bellstar Hotels & Resorts was handpicked for inclusion in this block of episodes alongside fellow Alberta company Clark Builders as well as Wild Wing, Orkin Canada, Beck Taxi, LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, Mr. Lube, Freshii, Pizza Nova and Mary Brown's Famous Chicken & Taters.

Ed decided to become involved with the series following a deep-rooted interest to showcase the people behind the popular Bellstar brand offering resort experiences is some of western Canada’s best destinations.

Undercover Boss Canada airs every Thursday on W Network, with the Bellstar Hotels & Resorts episode premiering on February 14 at 10 p.m. MT and 9 p.m. PT. The episode will repeat on February 17th and 24th. Please consult your local listings for other show times.
